As most of you are new to Linux, so after installing kali linux there are few things to
do for proper setup and full utilization of system.

Fix the default repository by editing the apt source list which gives packages for
different installations.

Opening the list:
~#leafpad /etc/apt/sources.list

Delete all the text written and add these lines:

## Regular repositories
deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali main non-free contrib
deb http://security.kali.org/kali-securitykali/updates main contrib non-free

## Source repositories
deb-src http://http.kali.org/kali kali main non-free contrib
deb-src http://security.kali.org/kali-securitykali/updates main contrib non-free

Hit Save.

Now when you try to install any package and the response comes as package is missing
that means you don’t have the latest updates installed on system.

–>To Update repositories
~#apt-get clean && apt-get update && apt-get upgrade -y && apt-get dist -upgrade -y
